Why visit
Plan Rabat Zoo as a full outing with a route, breaks and a family budget. Its value extends beyond seeing a particular animal: the spaces introduce species, habitats and conservation. Choose your ticket and duration before travelling.
A brief history
The National Zoological Garden of Rabat opened on 9 January 2012. Its project combines wildlife presentation, conservation, research and environmental education. The route is arranged around habitat-inspired landscapes: Atlas mountains, desert, savannah, wetlands and tropical forest. It belongs to the capital’s recent institutions for discovering biodiversity and encouraging its protection.
What to discover
The zoo presents five biozones, a museum, vivarium and educational farm. Check the map on arrival and select priorities. A particular animal’s visibility cannot be guaranteed because behaviour affects sightings. Confirm feeding sessions, workshops and experiences separately for your chosen day.
Family route and duration
Allow 3–4 hours including breaks. Start with a few priority zones, rest and choose the rest according to the children’s energy. For a shorter visit, reduce zones instead of rushing. Agree on a meeting point and take water, suitable shoes and sun protection.
The 2026 prices
The Rencontre sauvage table lists adults 90 DH, children aged 3–10 at 60 DH, students 80 DH and under-3s free. Family packs are 220 DH for two adults and one child, or 260 DH for two adults and two children. Separate tourist prices are listed at 180 DH adult and 150 DH child; confirm eligibility and documents. These tickets include the zoo, museum and vivarium.
Hours: confirm closing
Official pages agree on 10 am opening but differ on seasonal closing: the homepage says 5 pm for October–February, the FAQ 4:30 pm for October–March, and the preparation page 5:30 pm for March–October. Call 05 37 293 794 before planning a full visit. Listed Ramadan hours are 10 am–3:30 pm.
Arrival, services and budget
The address is Ceinture verte, annexe 23, Yacoub El Mansour. The zoo mentions taxis and buses 7, 18, 40 and 45; check current routes. The FAQ lists parking at 15 DH per day. Budget separately for meals, rentals and experiences, and compare family packs with individual tickets.
Access and frequently asked questions
The zoo announces a picnic area near the reception village, dining and stroller/wheelchair hire, with accessible spaces and dedicated parking. Confirm equipment availability and rental conditions. The named ticket includes the vivarium, but check the offer when buying. Only feed animals through activities authorised by staff.
